Growth problems

Our product is good but nobody is finding us. What do we do?

When a good product is not being found, the cause is rarely a lack of content or ad spend. It is usually that the business has not yet pinned down who the buyer is and what would make them care, so every channel carries a vague message to a vague audience. Track by Outfly starts there, before anything is published.

The signs

  • Traffic is low, and the people who do arrive are not the buyer you had in mind.
  • You describe the product differently depending on who asks.
  • Content goes out regularly and nothing measurable comes back.
  • Referrals and the founder's network still bring in most customers.

Why it happens

The market does not know you exist, and the people who should care have not heard the one thing that would make them care. That is two problems: reach and message. Most companies attack reach first, with content and ads, and spread an unclear message further.

What to do first

  1. List your last ten paying customers and ask each why they chose you. Their words are your proposition.
  2. Write down what they have in common: role, company type, the moment they started looking.
  3. Rewrite your homepage headline so that person would recognise themselves in it. A positioning statement is the sentence to write first.
  4. Only then pick one channel where that person already spends time, and test it for three months. Our go-to-market plan template puts these steps in order.

From the research

In Outfly's Growth Gaps 2026 report, 31 percent of the 628 UK company websites assessed (624 rated) had generic or unclear positioning, and 24 percent had sharp positioning. AI-assessed, from Outfly's prospect list, September 2026.

When to bring in help

Bring in help when you have done the customer interviews and still cannot agree internally on who the buyer is, or when you know the buyer but do not have the people to build pages and run campaigns. That is the gap Track by Outfly is built for. See the pricing or book a call and get a first FlightPlan either way.
